About the Company Behind the Jio IPO
Jio Platforms Limited is the digital and telecom arm of Reliance Industries. Since its launch in 2016, Jio has transformed India’s telecom landscape by offering free voice calls and affordable data. Today, it is the country’s largest telecom operator with over 53 crore customers and a dominant share in wireless data traffic and 5G adoption.
Apart from mobile services, Jio has built a strong presence in home broadband (JioFiber), enterprise solutions, and digital platforms. The Jio IPO allows public investors to own a stake in this high-growth digital business for the first time.
Use of Proceeds from the Jio Platforms IPO
Out of the total proceeds from the Jio IPO, around ₹27,500 crore will be used to repay or prepay borrowings of its subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. The remaining amount will be utilised for general corporate purposes. This debt reduction is expected to strengthen the company’s balance sheet going forward.
Jio IPO Anchor Book and Day-1 Subscription Status
Before the public issue opened, the Jio IPO received strong interest from anchor investors. Shares worth approximately ₹8,110 crore were allotted to 212 anchors, including global institutions such as BlackRock, Fidelity, Capital Group, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
On the first day of bidding (21 October 2026), the Jio IPO was fully subscribed within a few hours. Valuation and Financial Performance
