Amarnath Yatra 2025: The Amarnath Yatra is a famous annual pilgrimage in India undertaken by Hindu devotees to the Amarnath Cave Temple in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It’s one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The Amarnath Cave is located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters (12,756 ft) in the Himalayas. It’s known for the naturally occurring ice Shiva Lingam, which is considered a manifestation of Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage takes place annually during the Shravan month (July–August), lasting about 45 days. The specific dates vary each year based on the Hindu calendar. There are two main routes for this yatra: Pahalgam Route (traditional and longer) and Baltal Route (shorter but steeper).
